Jo Omodei
Performer/Teacher/Pilot Alumni
Jo Omodei (she/her) is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist from regional WA, now based on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja (Boorloo/Perth). A WAAPA graduate with the Palisade Award for Most Outstanding Graduate (2018) and LINK First Class Honours (2019), Jo has built a dynamic practice performing and choreographing across the WA dance sector.
She has worked with Co3 Contemporary Dance, STRUT Dance, Stephanie Lake, Scott Elstermann, WAAPA, The Blue Room Theatre and Enneagon Movement. Internationally, she has trained at b12 (Berlin), Henny Jurriƫns Studio (Amsterdam) and Tictac Arts Centre (Brussels).
Her choreographic works As the Edges Soften (2022), A New Dawn (2023), and The Future Softly (2026) explore time, space and connection. In 2026, The Future Softly received the Overall Dance and Physical Theatre Award at Fringe World Perth. Jo was also nominated for Best Duet and Best Choreography at the 2026 Performing Arts WA Awards (PAWA) for her work in Carcass with Annmarie Clifton-James.
Alongside her choreographic practice, Jo teaches with STRUT, WAAPA and Co3, continuing to develop her teaching alongside her creative career
