Jessica Pettitt
Performer/Teacher/Pilot Alumni
Jess Pettitt is a contemporary dance artist, teacher, choreographer, improviser, and researcher based across Boorloo and Kaurna Country. A WAAPA graduate with First Class Honours, Jess works across performance, creation, and community engagement, shaping a practice grounded in curiosity, play, and embodied connection.
Her choreographic interests are fuelled by collaboration and improvisation. Recent works include Collisions Incoming, created alongside Nathan Turtur, and Shifting Ground, developed in collaboration with and choreographed by Nadia Priolo. These projects explore responsiveness, community connection, and a deep curiosity for how movement can reflect and support the needs of the people it engages.
As an educator, Jess teaches contemporary technique, composition, and creative process across school, community, and professional settings. She creates dance environments that feel welcoming, energising, and creatively brave spaces where people can move, connect, and discover new possibilities.
Jess continues to strive for a career that balances performance, collaboration, and teaching, driven by her commitment to creating a vibrant, inclusive, and accessible contemporary dance landscape."
